As suggested by Mako here is a poll thread for voting.

Hope it all works.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright folks, it's time to vote!

This thread will be open for a week so that everyone has a chance to see it.

Start off by perusing this thread:

http://www.swaylocks.com/forums/spring-board-challenge-completed-entries

Check the pics, click the links and check the build threads, etc, etc.

Then, come back to THIS thread and vote.

Big thanks to everyone who participated you all added lot's of great content to the site and I'm sure, lot's of folks learned some things from you guys. I know I did. This whole thing was a great idea imo so, big thanks to Mako for getting this ball rolling!

I can access the "http://www.swaylocks.com/forums/spring-board-challenge-completed-entries" thread, but at the top of it there is the following error message:

"Oops, looks like this request tried to create an infinite loop. We do not allow such things here. We are a professional website!"

I'm wondering if there are some missing entries from the spring-board-challenge-completed-entries thread which may be causing this error message; e.g. I thought I saw an SBC build thread from lemat recently but I can't see it listed in the spring-board-challenge-completed-entries thread.

Cheers.

Yah, I don't know why it's doing that.

I went post by post through the completed entries thread and put them all in here for the poll. If you see one that I missed, please let me know and I will put it up. I don't know why Lemat's thread and board are not in the completed entries thread, you will have to ask him. I also had an SBC build thread going but did not finish in time and did not put my board in the completed thread.

Can we deduct points if people vote for themselves?  ;^}

Bumping this to the top and hoping someone with powers will pin it to the top.

Dang.  Only 25 total votes including people who voted for their own build.  Gotta be more people out there.

Over 500 views, only 30 votes.  Nobody cares much.  Maybe this should be retired to Errors and Bugs section!

I just voted.

Voting ends today folks

Me too.  Hopefully some of my critics can see now why I wanted to start the voting early, and get some buzz going with the prizes.  But hey, I'm good either way, happy to cast my vote and let the chips fall.  Either way, we're all winners, with all the cool build threads.

The whole point was to revive this place with some fresh build threads.  Mission accomplished!!!!  Glad to see the participation.

I didn't vote for myself. I didn't get any votes, hahah.

Huck,

So, you think starting the voting over a month before the contest ended would have brought a better turnout?

I've never heard of a contest, friendly or for prizes, starting the voting over a month before the entries were even due.

What about folks who vote but then see a board finished later that they would rather vote for?

I agree with Mako and you though that the added build threads to the site mean mission was accomplished.

Yes.  If a later entry caught your eye, no problem,  you could change your vote at any time up until the poll closed.  I wanted to get the voting thread started, and get some of the prizes posted so that we could build a bit of buzz over the outcome.  Just more fun that way IMO.  Either way, everyone did a great job, and you did a good job organizing the voting, good all around.   I am happy you took over, and appreciate your work on this.

I was torn between four boards, two of which received the most votes. No, I didn't vote for my own board! I voted for one of the boards that ended up in a three way tie for third!

I guess we need to start prepping for the Fall build?

Good job everyone and for those who took on the thankless task of organizing and seeing this through the end.

Giltch.

Just wait

and don't hit reload

You'll get there

But "professional error" will exist.

Hope this didn't bugger up those votes to the worthy.

Thanks ALL!

Hmmm - a re-vote? Keep the polls open a little longer? Post up some pics of prizes? I'm leaving it up to Chrisp, it's his call. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know my vote got thru! This has been crazy good fun so far.

It's all a big fake. I was in the lead, then some no-name comes out of no where and takes my fame. Smokes me by 2 votes... I'm crushed...I'll never make another surfboard again. I was looking forward to my big prize!   Hey wait...what was the prize anyway?

My board is officially up for sale...Make offers. I can't look at it anymore..Hurts too much.

See this was a dumb idea.  I should sue all of you. I should sue all of you for psykologicimical dambages.

I had a look at the votes and for actual registered members of this site who did not vote for themselves tally up like this according to my fuzzy calculations

Resinhead 4, surfthis and mattwho 3 each, grasshopper and oceancomp with 2 a piece, me, tenderloin tom, Keith Melville and Zinkin with one each.

Resinhead, you drive a hard bargain, but I can't go under $499.99.

How did I drop to 3 if I didn't vote for myself??? Oh wait, you're using the fuzzy calculator. I see how that can factor into results!

Resinhead, I couldn't vote for your board, because if my wife found out I could  build a board for $50, after my repeated trips to fiberglass hawaii and city mill, blowing at least a couple hundred bones, I would be in big trouble. Seriously though, I learned a shit-ton from your build thread.

Also I am pretty happy there weren't negative votes. That would have sucked. I will take 0 over -X any day.

Lets do it again!

Mako, now is the time where you say, "I love it when a plan comes together."

Cool, that the reason I'm hear, to passing along info. And made a few really good friends along the way too.

Any how I'm in the process of an even cheaper one than the blue one. So far free everything.
